This was a pleasant experience from the outset. While I didn't get to meet the owners of the campground as they were away during our stay, their property manager was awesome to deal with, prompt with answering any questions we had, and just an all around nice guy. (I had also emailed back and forth with the owners a few times and they were outstanding as well).

The facility is on the smaller side of what we're used to, with only 19 sites packed on to the grounds, things are close, but not super close to the point you'd hate your neighbor in short order. *The sites are a tiny bit on narrow side, so you'll need some precision backing in. Pedestals are in good shape and the place is clean. There are also some cabins and teepee's on the grounds as well, so it isn't just all RV's all the time.

We were supposed to be attending a volleyball tournament for my cousin during the trip, but at last minute, she switched clubs she played for, so we had all weekend to just wander around Bryson City and the area and generally relax after what has been a busy winter.

On to the pictures:

The campground from across the Tuckasegee River:

Did I mention that the Great Smoky Mountain Railway goes RIGHT outside the campground!! I love me some train. It is a scenic railway, so you don't have to worry about it passing at all hours of the day. Usually 11am and 3pm it is making its trip by.

You sure do find a lot of great campgrounds. Were there any site big enough for a 37' 5th wheel?

They claim that all of them are. What I did see was blocks that would allow you to overhang the rear of the coach and still put the landing legs down back there. There's also plenty of room in front since the middle isle is so wide. Some of the non-riverside ones 100% are long enough and I'm pretty sure you could still fit on one of the riverside ones.

Ohh, speaking of river.

The day we got there, nice flow:

I haven't been to Bryson City in a long time but if I remember correctly it wouldn't take long to wander thru it and see everything.. :)

Yep, not a big town for sure. I mostly like to take the Acura up there and wander around the roads.
