Do I have enough truck?

I don't have enough truck with my newer trailer. I'm shopping, but waiting to buy as prices are just nuts. I may can buy a 3500 for as much or maybe less than a 2500, but i'm watching. I really want a 6 1/2 or so bed, not an 8 ft.

My trailer is 5540 dry, so i'm guessing close to 7k loaded, hitch and all.

Curious what the payload and max tow ratings are on your Avalanche?

There was a guy in our old neighborhood with a 2500 Avalanche, was thinking they all came with the 8.1? 340 hp & 450 lb/ft torque! Pretty rare beast I think.

IIRC its 7200, i think the 2wd is 8200lbs. Max payload 1400lbs.
I have done a gmt 800- gmt 900 brake swap on the front end.

Yes those were stout. They also had the heavier rear end and a 4l80e trans. I have not really seen many around.
