Who would have known!!

I'll bet that chicken gets cold in the winter!

Is there any info about why/how it got there?

if you go about 25 miles past Chicken, you'll hit the Alaska Yukon Border... beautiful up there... zero population..
its about 100 miles of gravel from Chicken to Dawson City, with the exception of right near the border on the Alska side, its pretty good paved road.. we did run into one caribou up there. Anoother interesting thing about this part of the world is the treeline is at about 2500 feet of elevation.

the locals say they named it Chicken because the locals didn't know how to spell Ptarmigan... Ptarmigan being the local wild chickens the people would use for dinner.

its also worth saying you can go to Eagle Alaska if you take the road past Chicken and make the turn..
