Never seize or grease in the tow receiver for pull behind rigs?

I’ve been thinking about carrying some coveralls to wear hooking, unhooking and setting up. Seriously

    Wind and travel trailer

It was hard to even get out of the truck with it facing north. We stopped on an off ramp that had a parking area at the top of it and it was shaking the trailer like it was a dish rag. We finally got farther east and it let up to the manageable amount. Like 35-40 mph. Very glad we were in a 3/4...

    Wind and travel trailer

What’s the worst wind you’ve encountered while Rving? We went to Alamogordo, NM for a short stay and wound up staying an extra day because of the wind and dust storm. We weren’t far from White Sands NP and there was a lot of sand in the air. We waited until the wind warning expired and went on...

If you saw this at a gas station, would you tell the owner what they are doing is dangerous?

I have reported drunk drivers to the state police here and they replied that they didn’t have anyone in the area. Se La Vi

If you saw this at a gas station, would you tell the owner what they are doing is dangerous?

It could possibly be stolen also. Since it looks like it is night time.

If you saw this at a gas station, would you tell the owner what they are doing is dangerous?

I would ask him “where you headed “? If he said more than a few miles, I would ask him if he had plenty of insurance. Liability and life. Then I would either go the opposite direction or find a place to spend the night. Probably wouldn’t do any good to report them to the police.

Any significant concerns using a sleeve in a 3" receiver for a 2.5" tow hitch?

I use the same 2.5” to 2” for my Ram. I use shims to take out the slack. I’ve never had any problems using the adapter sleeve. I have a long tapered punch I wiggle in there to line the holes up. Have actually even thought about welding the sleeve onto the shank of the hitch but haven’t.

Never seize or grease in the tow receiver for pull behind rigs?

I don’t put anything in mine but I don’t leave it in the receiver. I do put a little synthetic grease in the hitch for the ball and clean it to get the grit out. Also put a little in the WD hitch where the WD bars go.

how would you like to be driving this truck?

We had it happen here too on I-20 east bound @ the 113 mm. Highway construction company has a big equipment yard at the 112 exit and it was one of their drivers. The driver said that the truck had been putting the pto in gear by its self or jumping into gear. I know the driver and more than...

I had to let off 2 noise makers last night

I’m the guy that slips out the back door in my underwear with my long barreled noise maker and slips toward the noise. We live in a very rural area on a square 26 acre lot with the house right in the middle of it. They had 150 yards distance to change their mind when they left the road. They...

The Nanny State is at it again...

I drove one with the same crap on it and the one I drove would do it about 50% of the time when you went under an overpass or had a guardrail in a curve. I got to where I wouldn’t use the cruise control at all. I told our safety man that if he didn’t think I could drive the truck on my own he...

I had to let off 2 noise makers last night

They all eventually get caught. Then they try to act like they are the victims of society. I started working at age 13. Not because I didn’t have everything I needed at home but because I wanted to have my own money and spend it on things I wanted. I was taught to keep my hands off of other...

I had to let off 2 noise makers last night

We had a person doing the auto break ins around here too. He was a young teen that would stay with different families for weeks at a time. He was staying with my SIL who had kids his age. He broke into my son’s vehicle and stole a bunch of small stuff but he stole a very unique knife that was in...

Surely photo shopped- but eye catching

I’m pretty sure the bow of the boat is over legal height. Look out overpasses. “ Sir we have no pull through sights available and you are going to have to back out of here “.

You can't fix stupid, but sometimes a bear can.

We have people with this level of mentality running our country. Simply amazing that people can be that stupid.

Has anyone pulled US-64 between Cimerron and Taos, NM?

We ran Hwy 518 from LasVegas and the speed limit was 45 mph on most of it. Very scenic drive but completely doable. Like you said it is a US highway so it shouldn’t be that bad.

    Maps

I started my trucking career in 1980 before cellular phones and GPS. I would get my dispatch and look at it on my atlas and make a mental note where I had to change highways. If I had to find an address in a large city (such as Houston) I would stop at a TS and they had a big map on the wall and...

    Maps

I prefer a map or atlas to plan for a trip and for unplanned detours. Last minute changes about where we are going next and anytime I decide to take a route Im not familiar with. Google and Apple maps are ok for finding a restaurant or local attractions but give me the paper for the big moves...

Has anyone pulled US-64 between Cimerron and Taos, NM?

I used to take my coat out of my assigned road tractor and have it cleaned on July 4th and put back in there when I went back to work.
