the Time Warp

its just about the Summer Solstice.
I normally get out of bed about 6 am. EST
we lost an hour due to time zone change
so not only am I up at 5 am but it was daylight at 5am here in Alabama.

which explains why I am in no hurry to get way the heck up north this time of year.
I still remember being in Alaska the first time around
and completely losing my sense of time of day and direction..

its weird to go outside at 2 am and it is twilight..
it also ruins any sense of direction when the sun traverses an arc
of 300+ degrees of summer sky and it only gets darkish.

Why blackout curtains are a must
that isn't the problem for me... its the time warp when you lose track of direction and what time of day it is..

this picture was taken at about 11pm near the Yukon River crossing up on the Dalton Highway.
