I've replaced the mattress in the last 3 RV's I purchased with a real mattress.. that piece of air covered fabric that looks like a mattress but feels like a picnic table that comes in most RV's is generally just for looks..
Generally right after I bought the trailer and after the first use.

Same here. Made one trip with that piece of concrete they call a mattress. Even with a big thick topper it was garbage, it came out and a pillowtop hybrid went in. 10000% better.

I gave the old one away on FB marketplace and I actually had two guys that were about to fight each other picking it up.

I can think of a lot of things to fight over, a short queen factory RV mattress aint one of them!

That is an amazingly accurate description for the mattress that came in the Airstream. The mattress that came in the New Horizons is a real mattress and is in perfect shape after 290 nights.
