Nice rig! Looks like you have lots of room with the slideouts. We don't have those and there are time I wish we did. I can't tell from the picture, do you have an anti-sway hitch?

I run the Equal-i-zer hitch. Very pleased with it. I have the 10k rated bars. trailer is 5500 dry, probably 6500 as loaded. As much as i wish to tow with the Avalanche. It handles it fine, i did do a gmt-800- gmt-900 brake swap. Rig is just a bit low on power as i only have 3 gears( plus od) a 4l60e.

The Equal-i-zer is a very good hitch, I've never had one, but the people I talk to are pleased with them. You probably pull in hills? My philosophy with pulling is I'm never in a hurry and don't go fast. Slow and steady wins the race and is much safer getting to the campground :)

Not a lot of hills, not like out west. Black mountain in NC is the steepest i've been up. 7% grade for 6 or 7 miles. But it is twisty.

That's a hard pull for any vehicle! Similar to the grade going up to the Eisenhower tunnel in Colorado. How is the trip back down the grade?

Low gears. Several runaway truck ramps. I tend to run in 2nd gear about 45-50. When i brake, i brake all the way down to 30, so that i brake less often, keeping the rotors cooler.

Very smart to brake like that. I see people's brake lights on for a minute at a time and the tell-tale smell of brake liners soon follows.

I love my Equal-i-zer. Do you like your Mallard? Our Passport is all paid off so I don't want to get crazy yet, but we looked at few and we liked them.

We love it. Very open for the dogs. Our 2005 jayco 23b hybrid camper was crushed under the metal shed when we got a heavy wet snow. So we ended up with a new camper.

I must admit, now that i'm not super young, i do like the electric stabilizer jacks and the larger slide out.

The first is at the Prairie Band Casino in Kansas, we were stuck in a snow storm for 2 days.
The second is at Georgetown Lake TX.
Plus that big beautiful Ford diesel that can pull us through any type of weather and over all kinds of roads.
