I'm from Michigan... pretty much am not able to go home without driving thru Ohio .. thru that really flat part on I75...
my theme for Ohio is " Oh! How I hate Ohio State". FWIW Ohio is mountainous compared to Florida. :)
northern Indiana and Illinois are pretty much just as flat as Ohio. if they didn't have mile markers and signage you wouldn't know where you were.

who is Georgia's look down on state? Alabama has always had Mississippi to say we are better than.

Probably Tennessee. I'm a transplant from Western PA, but been here for almost 40 years, so I never fell into the state rivalry thing any more than we hate everyone we're in the SEC with.
 
I'm from western Pa too. You moved too young to know that West Virginia is the butt of our diss jokes.

EG: did you hear about the tragedy at the West Virginia governor's mansion?

It burnt down to the axles....

or: A big concern in West Virginia is if you get a divorce is she still your sister??

some states don't seem to have natural rivals... for comparison sake NM is the very similar to AZ..

buddy was from Altoona PA.. he claimed PA had 3 distinct parts.. Philly, Pittsburg and Pennsyltucky.
he claimed Pennsyltucky as his home. :)

as far as sports since I live in FL.. FL is the place where the farther north you get, the more southern it becomes in character.
and there are so many transplants in many cases at a sporting event there are more fans for the other side
than for the home team..
