When I first looked at RV lot rates, I was caught by surprise. I was thinking why not just get a hotel room.

That makes a good case for RVs even at $50+/night for a site but the money isn't all that's involved in this "hobby".

doing the hi tech redneck thing right now.
I'm using the Starlink.
staying overnite in Tuscaloosa at Coaches Corner RV..
right down the street from Alabama's football stadium.
so if you ever want to go to a college football game here, this is the place to stay.

you don't go RVing because it is cheap.
not when you factor in the cost of the tow vehicle and the trailer.($100 k in my case)

shoot, I'm in Tuscaloosa right now, I've already thrown in 350 dollars worth of dead dinosaur juice.
I figure its 50 bucks a day to stay somewhere
I figure 40 cents a mile for fuel.
throw in all the other odds and ends you end up buying
it is what it is.

its been OK... but its been a intermittently fuzzy, I think because of cloud cover..
I got to watch the Panthers finish off the Oilers last night for the Cup, so that was a plus..

You mean the video is fuzzy? If so, that's packet loss causing your CODEC to reduce the bit rate. The lower the bit rate the poorer quality the video. If you turn the TV on in the morning I'll bet the picture is great. The network is likely congested during TV watching time in the evening.
