How to tell when a hydraulic line is about ready to burst?

A picture is worth a thousand words. This was taken in June '22 about a year after we picked up our New Horizons. I was at the factory getting a punch list done and looked everything over before I left. The line is between the pump and the leveling cylinder. This is what I found:

Of course they fixed it and I was on my way.

Wayne, food for thought.
my RV has hydraulic leveling.
it is 7 or 8 years old.
I noticed a year or so ago the front cylinders get a slight coat of dust all over them
because they have what you could call a miniscule leak. ( not in the sense it drips oil)
in the sense that because the only time they don't have any weight on them is when they are on the back of the truck
they are always deployed when the rig is parked.
so there is a miniscule coating of oil on them that takes months to form and dust collects on them.

it took me some thinking to figure out why.
I believe it is almost inevitable over time
those front jacks are pressurized most of their life.

now when I leave the RV parked long term at home I set it on a couple jackstands
so as to unload the hydraulic cylinders.

My BigFoot cylinders do not leak even a drop. The jacks carry the most of the weight of the trailer almost all the time. I'm a bit surprised they don't weep slightly. Really good seals I guess.
