how long is too long

perfect example is my own thinking.. I prefer a fith wheel in the 30 to 32 foot length but my wife always wants the house on wheels.. so what we have is 35.. it is still manageable .. and a 35 foot fifth wheel is about like towing a 28 foot tow behind...

so I saw this couple on FB announcing their new purchase complete with the Ram 1500 to pull it and thought man is that thing long.
whatchall think? specs on that rig are a 37 foot long trailer.. can you imagine getting it in a gas station?

Too long for a 1500, that's for sure. Even my trailer to truck ratio wasn't that bad with the Ranger.

I wouldn't want to pull that thing with my dually. I would wonder how far the trailer tracks as far as turning radius compared to the tow vehicle..

That’s going to create chaos at the gas pumps. The way most places are laid out you have to make a 90 degree turn into the islands. He flat won’t be able to pull though and will block travel lanes.

3/4 ton truck in the future if they make it.

It's like pulling a horse trailer, they turn in about the same radius as a semi. The tail will definitely wag the dog with that thing. I hope they have a ProPride.

Kinda like this dude that was asking about a performance tune on a Ranger forum. The thing he wanted to tow was way over what I would move with a Ranger unless it was just moving it around a parkinglot. He wanted more power so he could drag it up the North GA Mountains.

"I used to be a trucker' was pretty much his response.

I'm of the opinion if its a one time deal and only for a couple miles, you can get away with towing just about anything
but if you plan on doing that grossly overloaded routine on a regular basis somebody or something is going to pay.

hopefully it is just your truck that pays and no bodies are involved.
