Dometic porcelain toilet issue

I’ve never seen this on a toilet before. It’s a bunch of black dots and only on one side. Think I got this one last year but can’t recall if it looked that way then. I scrubbed and tried a straight razor and it’s like it’s embedded in. I thought about emailing Dometic. Really weird it’s just on one side and not in the bowel itself. Thoughts? I’ll just put it back in since the seat hides it.

Do any metal grinding near it?

Not that I can think of, no painting either. Wondering if it’s just a failed finish on that side.

I'll bet the dots were molded in when it was made. Dust or some kind of debris in the mold.
