Camping w/o sewer hook ups

Just getting back into camping and getting ready to take our new camper on a short 2 day camp to test everything out before any real long trips. It's been hooked up at the house since we bought it 2 weeks ago and everything seems to be working fine. We will be camping at a Texas state park that does not have full hookups - just water and power. I have never camped w/o sewer but I am thinking a 2 day stay with military showers should allow me to go until we leave and hit the dump station. (It will be 2 people and maybe my son making it 3 at the most). Black and Gray tanks are each 38 gal. It's either military showers or buy a tote on wheels to dump the tanks and drag to the dump station which I cannot believe how expensive a simple plastic tank on wheels is!!

Anybody think of anything I should also consider? Hate the short showers but if I can go the 2 days and not fill the tanks so be it.

(More worried about the grey tanks)

We do this quite often with the wife and I. Usually we're fine on both tanks. You're usually taking short showers anyways because of the 6 gallon water tank. We have a tote, but I have yet to take it with me.

Thank you for your experience!

38 Gallons is a lot of poo. :) Usually, before I leave, I'm standing in the bathroom with my foot on the go pedal dumping extra water in the black tank for that bit of extra push, so there's plenty of room left at the end of a weekend.

If you fill a 38 gallon black tank in 2 or 3 days I'd be impressed! That is a lot of :poop:!!!

As far as the grey tank, you should be fine as well.

Just my $0.02

Zero concern about the black tank capacity. The grey tank will fill much faster. When you do dishes, put hot water in a large bowl and do the dishes in the bowl, then dump the bowl and rinse large items into the bowl. Rinsing this way you'll be able to finish rinsing small items in the rinse water you caught in the bowl. When you shower, rinse and shut the water off. Soap everything but your head, turn the water back on and do your hair and face, rinse quickly. You'll use much much less water than a home style shower. You'll have plenty of gray tank capacity.
