Buying Parts Direct From Lippert

I'll have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Shipping was reasonable, and fast. Ordered March 11th, on my porch on March 13th. Price on the parts was also competitive to Amazon. I know everyone is spoiled by 'free' Prime Shipping, but it was $9 from Lippert, which I consider decent enough.

I don't think the parts are of any higher quality, certainly you can do better for bearings with a Timken part or other 'name brand' but I'm sure these will perform adequately given proper care.

Lippert branded seals, likely just a chinese part. Bag of 10 for $19.

Lippert bearing pack: $16.95 ea pack. Includes both bearings, races, cotter pin, locking washer (or whatever that thing is) and seal. I'm not having any problems with mine, but as I'm preparing to repack them I wanted spares on hand.

Just run of the mill Chinese bearings. Not great, but not terrible.

Smart, I wish I had done this...
I figure if I don't need them, I'll pack them and then seal them up in some heavy ziplocks and store them in the camper.

That way I will never ever need them or be stranded by a bad bearing. Cause if I buy extra stuff I never need it, but if I don't then the stupid things will blow out right in the middle of BFE....in the middle of the night......in the rain.

if you do the maintenance you wont need them., most wheel bearings fail from either neglect or water ( think boat trailers).

9 bucks for shipping isn't bad.. thats about what Rock Auto charges for that sort of thing..
I've never even checked on Rock Auto for those seals but I bet they have them .

I've had some in the past that failed from improper heat treat. No amount of grease was going to save those. I'm especially wary these days with all the stuff coming out of China. Some is ok, some is......well, could be better.
