Booked a trip in May

We're going to circle Utah and see some things we've missed on the way by on previous trips and visit a niece in Wyoming. 3 weeks out and this will be different for us, usually we're traveling straight to a destination and staying. This trip is a couple of days here and there and there. This got shortened from going to Seattle, that was just getting too complicated and long.

going to Vegas first so you can take win money with you to pay for the trip? Have fun.

Look closer you'll notice we bypass LV. We spent one night in LV years ago, in the little campground behind Circus Circus. We walked in the back door of Circus Circus, out the front door and down the strip to the fountains. Went back the other way and went up the big tower and looked around. Watched some guy do the freefall out of that tower. Back to the camper, spent the night got up and left. No need to go back, ever. Only money spent was for the site.

Going to any of the big 5?
No, been there. Going to some smaller parks, Valley of Fire in Nevada, Utah Lake SP (not sure why?) , Flaming Gorge in Wyoming/Utah, Dinosaur National Monument Utah/Colorado, Fruita & Cortez Co.

We've been to Fruita and Cortez, Kokopelli trail and 18 Road trails at Fruita, Phil's World at Cortez. ;) Really like both areas.

I've been to Flaming Gorge... stayed in Dutch John UT which is near the dam on the souther end..... population 100 ... two of my more favorite places.. there are also National Forest Campgrounds there.. it sure as heck wasn't crowded when we were there.. probably too difficult for most people to get to as it aint close to anything.. also been to Dinosaur. which is cool as can be..

so Jeff, are hitting Dinosaur first and then coming up to the Gorge from Vernal or the other way around?

the Gorge is spectacular..

Clockwise. We'll be staying at Buckboard Crossing Campground on the west side of whatever the lake is called. It's kinda half way between Green River Wy where niece is and the dam.

tellya what I remember was there are some serious grades in there between Vernal and Dutch John, since we was going south, we had pulled over someplace to take a look and there was this old boy and his son in there with smoking brakes on their old Dodge Cummins... and they come up to me and asked me what gear I was using to descend and I told them 2nd or 3rd.. and the younger guy told the older guys " I TOLD YOU TO DOWNSHIFT".

We'll probably drive over there but won't be pulling the trailer on that road.
