a tale of 3 drive belts..

Interesting that all don't look like the left one. All of ours that I've changed out around 100k looked like the left one. But they are close to the same length. The replacements though didn't last as long as the factories. I've put 2 belts on the Escape and Focus both close to 190k, the rest...

05 Jayco Escapade Refresh and Upgrades

Otherside.. excuse the mess still putting everything back. We cleaned the RV and removed three big bags of stuff we rarely or never used!

05 Jayco Escapade Refresh and Upgrades

Got rid of the valances and broken blinds. Slight mistake ordering the sheer curtains but works out ok. 24 inch sheer curtains work fine on the drivers side but too short on the passenger. Showed two curtains in pic but was actually just one. The blackouts are 36, little long on the drivers...

20 things we wish we knew before RVing to Alaska

I've watched too many videos, all are basically the same. I've ordered the 2024 Milepost which show up next month. We're heading out for month at the end of May. Mostly going to wing it but have the start and stops for each day. Some people try to do too much on trips and wear themselves out.

    Dometic porcelain toilet issue

Not that I can think of, no painting either. Wondering if it’s just a failed finish on that side.

    Dometic porcelain toilet issue

I’ve never seen this on a toilet before. It’s a bunch of black dots and only on one side. Think I got this one last year but can’t recall if it looked that way then. I scrubbed and tried a straight razor and it’s like it’s embedded in. I thought about emailing Dometic. Really weird it’s just on...

Pictures of inside of water heater after 290 nights use

Nope.. I put a electric element in when we got in and it still looks good.

Pictures of inside of water heater after 290 nights use

Our Atwood has aluminum tank and I've never seen any buildup. That's one thing I'd change, never have to mess with anode rods.

Yeah that's where those pieces came from. I was kinda surprised they didn't have anything like it. Maybe the pine will be ok if I paint it good. The other option is getting something and using the table saw. Setting all the trim in place with 3m double sided tape.

Last of the flooring down. Having mixed thoughts on trim. Some areas just caulk would be ok but others need trim. Wouldn’t look good mixing. Hate quarter round prefer the square but can’t find any in pvc. The place I didn’t look was Home Depot. That’s pine that I already got.

It’s the GM.. so far so good and no oil consumption.

05 Jayco Escapade Refresh and Upgrades

That's one thing I find odd about this RV. Except for the decorative covers everything has screws, sometimes in odd locations but at least it wasn't stapled. The 5th wheel I had everything was stapled. Makes me wonder what Jayco does today. Unfortunately the more I do to it the harder it will be...

Right now him and his brother sleep up in the cab over. Not sure how long they’ve been up there. They outgrew the couch. We got it when they were 1 and 4 so yeah they have a few memories and few they won’t let me forget 😂

Poles are gone! Pull that and push down. Guess it’s sturdy enough, boys will probably find out. Hit metal with the screws along the top and bottom. Thought about putting a piece of plywood with adhesive and screws but figured try this first.

05 Jayco Escapade Refresh and Upgrades

Taking a break for a couple days… tired! Have the plywood for the sides and the other outlet. Might need to rethink the “seating” area.

Debating if I should getting the same piano hinge for the other side. This opens a lot easier and no binding.
