Bellaire Kansas only claim to fame

I didn't know this existed, thank you! We have driven US-36 from Springfield, IL to Denver, CO, so we drove right past this. This is a streetview of the marker above: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yhDkh1oHNe9oTxKq9 This is a photoglobe of the actual marker...

any of you ever been to Big Bend National Park?

We have cancelled Big Bend NP twice, unfortunately. Our son has been there a couple times and says it's a must-see park. FWIW

Video of two vandals knocking rocks off cliff in Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Two miscreants knocking rocks off a cliff in a federally protected area. If they get caught, I wonder what they will tell the judge? Video

Driving down the road minding your own business and WHAM!

Like when I was 18 riding my motorcycle 135 MPH and got death wobble. I used up 8.99 lives in that few seconds until I got slowed down enough to stop the wobble. Try taking your hands off the handle bars at 125 MPH. You make a lot of promises.

    Dodge/Ram folks are lucky / Towing with a 2018 Ram 1500

Funny you should ask. I was standing on Mason St in FoCo yesterday watching a freight train run down the middle of the street. There is a dip in the rail at the crossing and it surprised me how much the truck side frames move around when going over dips in the rail. However, the coil springs...

    ever wonder about some people

I wonder pretty much every day what some people think. Destroying things must make them feel strong and in control, when in reality they are weak and insecure. Jerks.

Driving down the road minding your own business and WHAM!

This video is not for the faint at heart. It's a sad day when innocent people get hurt or killed by a totally unexpected accident. I wonder if the driver of the class A fell asleep?

Interesting article that breaks down by states requirements if a CDL is required to drive a RV through the state

It shouldn't have been confusing at all to the trooper. You weren't for hire and were hauling your own stuff, regardless of the company name on the trailer. You were not involved hauling someone else's stuff for hire, period.

Looking for comments/ recommendations on towing a enclosed 32' triple axle trailer

The F350 will pull this trailer just fine. It's not a race and this trailer will tow very nicely at 60-65 MPH. We pull a 37' 5th wheel that weighs 20k and it tows just fine with our 3500. The longer the trailer the easier they are to back up, so long as you have the room. Short trailers are...

    Dodge/Ram folks are lucky / Towing with a 2018 Ram 1500

We have two of the ZF8 transmissions with a total of 250k miles on them. I am here to attest that they are absolutely the best light duty transmission I've ever driven or owned. The TCU is programmed amazingly well and the trans doesn't hunt gears. Better yet, both can be locked into a gear...

Interesting article that breaks down by states requirements if a CDL is required to drive a RV through the state

I have lived in Illinois or Colorado for the last 30+ years. It's very simple, neither require a CDL for ANY type of RV. All other states honor your home state's requirements. Some don't have it so simple.

Duramax EGT temperatures from the exhaust manifold to the back of the DPF

I do the same. The Banks iDash allows you to force a moving regen with just a couple clicks. When I'm an hour from stopping and the DPF % is at 90+, then I'll force a regen so I don't have to "go for a drive" when I'd really like to just run an errand.

Origin of the river's name "Cache la Poudre"

I was riding my bike on Bingham Hill Road and stopped at this plaque to see what it said. The name "Cache la Poudre" which around here people will tell you it means "hide the powder", but it's not proper French. The actual phrase in proper French is "Cache a la Poudre" which means "cache of...

    Mudflap fuel discount app

I just made a trip to Iowa and back last weekend and finally was able to use the app. It's very easy and at a couple stops, I entered my code right at the pump. Mudflap had better prices for this entire trip and I'm comparing to Open Roads and OOIDA cards.
