    NO good deed goes unpunished.

A sorrowful combination of poor planning and some lazy people make for a bad day. I helped a friend move a few years ago. He had been divorced and needed some help; we agreed several weeks in advance to lend a hand, and told him we only had one day to move a whole house. I specifically told...

Preventive Maintenance of the more difficult kind

To be specific, these type of bearing sets are referred to as "unit bearings" because the bearing housing holds the race and bearings in as an assembly. It makes for quick install at the factory (just bolt in the ass'y). It makes for quick field repairs also, as long as someone put some...

Slide Outs - is the juice worth the squeeze?

I prefer not to have a slide-out. But that's because I don't "live" in an RV; I only sleep in there and change clothes. The rest of my time is spent outside. I certainly would agree that if you intend to spend a lot of time inside or have a big crew, the slide is pretty much a "must have"...

Do you travel or camp in groups?

We have one other couple that we travel with occasionally. They both camp and ride MCs; as do we. So we've had some fun vacations together. But we also go "solo" (wife and I; w/ kids when they were young). I don't like traveling in large groups. Large groups means getting a...

Calculations on how far the Tesla Cybertruck could pull our 5th wheel trailer

When I had my Dmax, I just carried two 5 gal containers of diesel fuel with me as "insurance" when on our RV trips. I actually had to use them once. I laid out my fuel stops a few days ahead; I had planned to stop for fuel where I was familiar with the area from previous trips, but it was...

Calculations on how far the Tesla Cybertruck could pull our 5th wheel trailer

Math doesn't lie. Tree huggers do. Not unlike that garbage where the DOE currently allows for a 6x multiplication factor in equivalent MPG statements for EVs. https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2023-06869.pdf...

This folks may be what you'd call a pickle

I've been on that road on a MC; it's tight for sure. Beautiful experience.

This folks may be what you'd call a pickle

That would be a nightmare. I've pulled thru some rough areas, but always been careful to know the limits of the roads prior to the entry. And, I also fear being a nuisance to others; once you get stuck, you impede the progress of others. That would just double down on the stress for me.

    why I dislike Fords.

I don't think so. But a lot has changed since I've owned one.

    why I dislike Fords.

You're probably right. Nothing wrong with that; your opinion is as valid as any other person's. I would tend to agree; that's why I gave up diesels when I traded in my Dmax. I just think they have all become difficult enough that I just want a gasser. Oh man, I miss my 1996 extended cab...

    why I dislike Fords.

I've seen that video before. One man's opinion does not make for a scientific conclusion. I will limit my comments to normal "stock" engines. I exclude the topic of racing, "tuned" or performance built engines. There are, by now, probably a million or more 6.7L PSDs on the road. Oil...

    That's weird. Romotow T8 trailer

Pros: - engineering masterpiece - aesthetically appeals in a "new age" sort of way - easily impress your multi-million dollar friends who also have too much money to waste - the "cool" factor pegs the meter at 10 out of 10 Cons: - engineering run amok; this thing not only swings open, but has...

What's wrong with a little birthday candles fib?

Isn't that "3" just an "8" that melted away on the side ? 🤣

Byrna less than lethal self defense firearms

I think any tool that helps protect yourself and others is a good tool. Some are obviously better than others. Any of these less-than-lethal "guns" (not really a gun, for lack of a better term ...) would be better than having nothing in your hand. Off the top of my head, here are the pros...
